Designer Sample Sale At Whiteleys

A designer sample sale is running between April 20th to 22nd at the award winning Henrietta Ludgate’s workshop. The labels participating are Ada Zanditon, Goodone, Lu Flux, Sonya Kashmiri and Cecile Van Dijk. Henrietta graduated from Central Saint Martins School of Art and gained a reputation in a couple of years by winning the Ethical Fashion Forum’s Fashion Innovation Award in 2010 and the Scottish Young Designer of The Year in 2011. Her minimalist style seduced many including Livia Firth, creative director of Eco Age who wore her designs on the Red Carpet. The core concept of the label relies on sourcing and producing locally to promote and revive the British textile industry.

Since her debut in 2009 during the London Fashion Week, Ada Zanditon’s has shown a business philosophy rooted in sustainability. She designs her pieces out of organic and natural fabrics while maintaining waste reduction and low energy consumption. Her ethical vision is complete and focused on the development of more sustainable alternatives within the supply chain.

Goodone is a label specializing in up-cycling. The team collaborated in various ethical projects with organizations such as WWF, Amnesty, Greenpeace, No Sweat or companies such as Tesco. They also participated in the Greece and Slovenia Fashion Weeks and were selected by the Ethical Fashion Forum to judge the 2011 Innovation Awards.

Lu Flux was awarded the Innovation Award by the Ethical Fashion Forum and has been exhibiting at Esthetica for 3 years. The designer, Lu, studied at Edinburgh College of Art where she won the Ocean Terminal Scottish Fashion Graduate Award with her final collection. She uses traditional techniques such as patchworking, knitting and pleating along with modern designs.

Sonya Kashmiri’s bags are made of organic and recycled materials which she combines with natural tanned leather. She participated in Esthetica, London fashion Week and Premiere Classe were she presented her collections.

With a background in costume design, Cecile Van Dijk is creating beautiful and modern corset. She prides herself in sourcing from local suppliers as well as France and Italy. All her designs are made in her workshop in London.
